Spokesperson My 12+ years in radio prepared me well for a career in communications. Because of these skills, I was able to step in to do interviews when expert colleagues and supervisors were not available. In the run up to Copenhagen I gave a brief synopsis to CNN of European NGO asks for the international climate deal. Recently, I engaged in a radio broadcast debate about reform of the EU's Emissions Trading System on the BBC World Business Report, a program of the BBC World Service. See audio and video clips below.
I made it into CNN's promo spot for their televised debate at the Copenhagen climate conference in 2009 (above at 0:12). Full video below.
Come back to this page soon for clips from my time at KALX radio and BBC London.
BBC London Radio While living in London, I appeared regularly as a volunteer news commentator on BBC London Radio's The Late Show. During this show I provided pithy commentary with the show's host and another guest on the headlines of the day.
KALX Radio 90.7 FM I started volunteering at KALX during university at UC Berkeley. I first trained to work in the publicity department and soon moved into DJ training. After that it was a hop, skip and a jump to doing production and editing, in-depth interviews of some of my favorite musical artists (e.g., Elliott Smith, Phish, Liz Phair, the Beta Band and many more), investigative feature pieces for public affairs programming, reviews and of course, DJing and programming music.
